Just had a knock at the door, it was my brother and his wife, dropping off a belated birthday gift that my sister in law had purchased in Shanghai recently. So thoughtful of her! It's not listed on the database, but it appears that the pin for each month of the year in this series has a different design and character. And yes, it's a slider. I do have one page of Mickey pins that this could live with, but I kind of want to put it in its own tiny frame on the wall in the bedroom! -

I have to say how much fun it was seeing all the 2000s pins!! A lot I knew but there were so many I never saw before so what a great way to go back and look at early on pins!! While others have given their choices for some amazing reasons and for some amazing pins I'll have to be more on the sentimental side. Sure hope I do this right lol 1st I have to go with my earliest Disney memory of coming home from church Sun night to watch the Wonderful World of Disney and seeing part of the Electrical Parade in the opening scene. That has stuck to me my whole life and it wasn't until 2011 when I got to finally see it for the 1st time #2 has to be an Alice in Wonderland pin. I have loved the story of Alice in Wonderland my entire life and have seen and loved many versions of the story but none so brilliant as Disney's version. While it's not necessarily my ultimate favorite Disney movie of all time it does however stand out to me probably the most for the color contrast and artwork. I have never seen more vibrant colors in any other Disney movie or any cartoon or other movie to compare it too. The animation is so brilliant and vivid and the flower scene is my absolute favorite which is right around when she sits on the mushroom with the caterpillar. #3 I had no idea that this pin existed until I found this game and search through all the 2000 pins for low and behold here is a pin with our nations Capital and very close to home since I live in MD 🥰🫡 #4 has to be my favorite little purple dragon Figment!! I met and fell in love with this little fellow during my 1st trip to Disney in 1992. Disney!!...bring back Dreamfinder!! Last one will be hard for me because there were so many wonderful pins and choices BUT I think I'll have to go with a Fantasia 2000 pin. Both my oldest daughter and I have loved Fantasia all of our lives and it influenced our love for music, classical music, art of animation as well as we both play the piano and we both learned some of the songs that inspired the Disney animators to bring these wonderful masterpieces of art to life. She has loved the Chernabog and the Greek Pastorale shorts the most and ever since she 1st saw them at the age of 5 but in Fantasia 2000 the Sprite and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue were her favs. Again so many wonderful pins to choose from!! I loved the Osborne Family Christmas as well as the Disney Cats group but I didn't want to duplicate anything 😊 -

PP5: In my opinion, this is THE definitive first Disney Pin – at least the first pin to signify the start of the Millennium Celebration pin trading initiative. I love learning about the history of Disney Pin Trading, and the Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand pins are some of the best examples of how it all started. PP2210: Also a great example of one of the most iconic early pin designs. I love the whole trio of the original Hot Air Balloon pins, and I love that the Disney Design Group agreed, recreating and expanding the set as part of this year's Celebrating 25 Years of Disney Pins event. The Cinderella Castle imagery is just so iconic, and it's a pretty decently sized pin for 2000. PP3907: Disney loves to celebrate any and every anniversary they can with merchandise, and this pin was one of the first to signify that trend. What other theme park would celebrate its 29th anniversary? I also love how the tablecloth matches Sorcerer Mickey's hat. PP266: The 2000 E-Ticket Attractions set has some great designs in it, drawing from the stylized imagery of each of the featured attractions, but the Dumbo pin stands out to me because of its error: Dumbo was not an E-Ticket attraction! So some Disney Artist must have been a huge fan of the ride to sneak this one into the series. PP2191: While I am not a big Disney Cat fan myself, I love the design of this pin. It is such a fun crossover of so many different characters, and I think it is a good example of some of the more fun pins Disney has made throughout the years. I love the pins that aren't "canon" like these sort of mashup pins. It reminds me of some of my favorite newer pins like the Disney Princesses and their pets set from WDC. -
