angelo97 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Hi, I’m enjoying the new site and see all the hard work that went into it. However, I wanted to ask, is anyone else having trouble searching for pins? for example, when I go to the search bar and typed in “piece of Disney history” it says no results found. Then I’ll check the box “include description” and sometimes results may appear but not the accurate amount of pins. Additionally sometimes pins still won’t appear at all. This is also not isolated to POH pins I’ve search many different groups of pins. I'm wondering if this is just something that will be resolved in coming days or is this an issue that we will face going forward unless we are subscribed? Quote

Words under three characters cause the search to find nothing, because it's supposed to skip over the two-letter words. We're working on fixing that now! If you search for piece disney history, then you will get all the results like normal, in the meantime. Sorry for the inconvenience! 3 Quote
dizfan Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Great job on the new site! We have been members of PinPics for a very long time & what you have accomplished is fantastic! We are not very active anymore but have always been huge fans of PinPics (it's the only site we use). I attempted to remove a couple of pins from our collection by accessing our pin then tried to scroll down from 1 to 0. That didn't work so I typed in a 0 & hit enter; nothing happened. We also tried to subscribe to a package & were denied. I did send a message so looking forward to hearing back. Appreciate your help! Thank you! 2 Quote
Dragon57 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) @dizfan Click on the icon. Does not matter in mobile or desktop view to either add or remove the pin. Edited February 19 by Dragon57 1 Quote
jadams1010 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 The function of searching "owns" and "wants" seems to be missing. When pin database is checked it searches the whole "browse pins" database not just the owns or wants. I need this function back or instructions on how to use it in the new construct. Also, the oldest/newest function is reversed in some cases in the "pin database" functions. Not sure the upgrade is as good as the old version yet. Not as obvious as the old version anyway. Excluding/including only AP/PP will be handy in search finctions. Thanks. Quote

Hi @jadams1010 When you are looking in the Pin Database - as you scroll over the pins there will be a dropdown where you can see how many people Own Want or are Trading the pin. See attached image: If you go into the pin you will see on the right in the Pin Stas section how many Own Want or are Trading the pin. You can click on the Want and Trading numbers to see the specific members. Hope this helps! If not please let us know! Molly 1 Quote

It's been a lot of work, so we're really excited to be able to finally have this online! The subscriptions are not quite ready yet. I'll double-check in there to see why it would let you try to subscribe. Oops! However, we'll be debuting the first of three tiers very soon, so stay tuned for an announcement on that. 1 Quote
KatDC Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Having trouble with the searching. Trying to find pins with how I word them isn't working anymore. Most recent example: The Magic of Honor set. If you type in Magic of Honor nothing shows up. I have to search by the word "medal" or the subject matter. In this case I was trying to add the Tiki Room Magic of Honor. I either have to search through 35 pages of pins using the word "medal" or way more with the words "tiki room" when "Magic of Honor" would only pull up 12 pins since it was a pin of the month. Those words even show up in the title of the pin, but still will not pull up that way. Really taking a lot longer to search than it used to. Sorry. Quote
bogeymike2003 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Hi, @KatDC try leaving out the small words like "a", "the", "of". I'm assuming you are looking for pin 132826, Enchanted Tiki Room - Magic of Honor - Medal - Pin of the Month from WDW. For this one search on "Tiki Magic Honor" and it comes right up. Hope that helps. -Mike 2 Quote

Our search needs a a fix to handle the small words, because right now it's stopping the search from working. We're in the middle of fixing it, so this won't be an issue much longer. In the meantime, just search for Magic Honor, rather than Magic of Honor. That should keep it working. Sorry for the inconvenience! 1 Quote

TheTwins Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 The issue with certain words causing the search to return zero results has been fixed! If anyone has any other concerns or notices this happening, please let me know. Also, the Mobile Search should now show the filters and search options at the top, without having to scroll all the way to the bottom. 1 2 Quote
grottopins Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Hi friends! The new website looks great -- congrats to all involved! Apologies if this question has been asked and answered already -- but when using the PDF feature, I know we can use the search bar to generate specific lists to print, but is there a way to ONLY print the starred/grail pins from the wants list? Thanks in advance! Quote

Thanks in advance! That's a very good question, actually! Currently, there is no way to just print the Grail Pins, but I can definitely add that to the PDF wish list for future updates. I think the best way to do it for now would be to just print the number of pages from your PDF that have the Grails in them, if you're printing onto paper. 1 Quote

For example, in the old app, I could be in my wants list (over 5k pins for me). That list could be searched for a character, movie, etc. so that I could get a subset of my wants and find a pin I wanted (without going through 5k pins) and then update as owned or uncheck it if I was no longer interested. I can't find that function in the new app. 1 Quote

Dragon57 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) @jadams1010 once you filter your owns list just click on the wants tab and it will filter the wants list. Edited February 21 by Dragon57 2 Quote

We'll fix it for the next update. Thanks for letting us know. EDIT As a workaround, until it's fixed, you can open the WANTS list in a new window/tab, and then filter the pins. That way it will filter the WANTS list by default. https://pinpics.com/pins/dashboard/41732/want/ 1 Quote
cpersonette Posted February 22 Posted February 22 The site looks great! I have a question about searching my own pins…I found a question on this topic but my view does not look the same. There is no search feature for any but the community board. What am I doing wrong? Quote
Dragon57 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 @cpersonette You need to use the drop down and select the option you want like Pin Database that like I did in this example. 1 Quote

It works if your filter/search field is a character, movie, event, etc. rather than being part of a list. I wasn't referring to the filter lists. Quote
Orangebirdman33813 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 How does one remove a pin from the wants list? I successfully add them to the own but can’t get them to come off the wants lists. Quote
