SKU for a Disney Auction Pin

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Actually, I have a Disney Auctions pin card with the SKU DP00301 on the back and I can't figure out which of my pins goes with that card. We're downsizing and if I'm going to give pins away or sell them, I would like the right card to go with the right pin. It's likely either a villian or a western themed pin. I would appreciate if someone could help. BTW, I've looked up the SKU everyway I know but have not been able to match it up with a pin. Thanks in advance. - Paul

Hi! That's actually a good question. SKUs can be a bit confusing!

The two letters at the front of the DP item numbers denote that this was a Disney Auctions P.I.N.S. (Purchase It Now Store) pin. You're looking for a pin that was most likely purchased in the last quarter of 2004 or during 2005. Unfortunately, your particular pin may not have been submitted to PinPics by a member during those years, or they may have neglected to list the item number. We're constantly adding and updating numbers in listings.

Hope this helps! :scoop:

I have a pin with SKU#DP00304 - Maleficent and Goon, PP#33112, LE500, 2004. Maybe if you search on "Peek-a-Boo" you might get close.  Maybe not?

Years ago "docfish2U" initiated an effort to change all of the "DA & DP" designations in the SKU area to the Bar Code listings.  Major changes were made in the database and I believe most of the DA &DP information is gone.  I keep an Excel sheet that goes back over 20 years for my pins and I still have the DA & DP information for most of my Villain pins.

It would be up to Molly and the Admins. to decide to do this, if at all, to the database. Their call.  If you remember at that time there was a big debate as to what was the correct information. If pins were re-released they had different DA/DP numbers.  Do you input the SKU #'s with or without spaces (for searching reasons).  Personally I voted to keep the DA/DP #'s, but the decision went the other way to get rid of them and do the SKU's.

This is interesting! I'm learning a lot. Thanks for bringing this up, guys. 🙂

All data that was in the field identified as "SKU" was transferred/imported exactly as it was sitting in the database for all these years. Anything that was in the listings is still there, so any data changes that would have been made years ago would still be there. That said, I can see the need for having both SKUs and the DA/DP#s. @buzz2001 Currently, we will have to add any DA/DP#s into the front description. We are not going to replace SKU info for these pins with the DA/DP#s.

@figment919 If you have an excel sheet/info for any quantity of the DA/DP#s, are you willing to share that? If so, that would give us a starting point, which would mean that I could work on having a field added specifically for these numbers. If info is added into the field, then it will show up in the right-hand side of a pin listing in the Pin Info column. If there is no info in the field, then it would just not show. This would be a good way to incorporate the info without inserting it into an incorrect field or replacing data.

Thanks!

HI.  Let me edit down my Excel sheet and see if I can get it into a workable format for you. Give me a few days.
