handora Posted April 17 Posted April 17 (edited) Hi everyone! I recently had some pins gifted to me by a friend, and would love some help in checking their authenticity. As they were gifted, I don't have the backing cards for any of them. My friend can't remember where they were purchased from or when they were purchased. The 3 pins that I would like help checking the authenticity of are: Lilo - Ice cream mystery (PP129804), Pluto - ice cream mystery (PP130017) and Captain America - Marvel - Kawaii Art Mystery Collection 1 (PP109954). Lilo - Ice cream mystery (PP129804) When looking at the back of this pin, I find it very difficult to make out any digits in the date to show the year it was produced. Captain America - Marvel - Kawaii Art Mystery Collection 1 (PP109954) The small mark that is above Cap's lip has come off now that I have cleaned the pin again. Pluto - ice cream mystery (PP130017) On this pin, I can read the year is 2018 when angled under the light. There is a small 'overspill?' on the bottom right of the ice cream itself, which makes me unsure of this pin. Thanks in advance for your help Edited April 17 by handora added in unnecessary info, updated comment about where pins were from Quote
Solution sithathoriunet Posted April 18 Solution Posted April 18 I'm not sure about Captain America, but I think the two ice cream pins are fake. The edges are sloppy and they appear to be soft enamel. 1 Quote
Dragon57 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I totally agree with @sithathoriunet that the ice cream one are fake. The colors are also off. The Captain America is not from Shanghai if it is from the Marvel - Kawaii Art Mystery Collection 1. So I believe it is also fake. 2 Quote
