UncleGoofy32 Posted Sunday at 06:25 PM Posted Sunday at 06:25 PM Trying to determine the value of a pin. Currently, the value of a regular version of the pin is $20, but the pin I have is an AP version. How much does the AP add to the value? Quote
sithathoriunet Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM Posted Sunday at 07:33 PM When I was starting out a few years ago, I was advised that in most cases, the AP only adds $5-10 in value. That said, I will defer to the traders here who have many more years of experience. Quote
TheTwins Posted Monday at 12:19 AM Posted Monday at 12:19 AM @UncleGoofy32 That's a hard thing to pin down, because a lot depends on the pin. However, the standard answer is anywhere between 10-50% more in value for an AP. I tend to go on the higher end. There are only about 20-30 AP versions per pin, and it's a sure sign of authenticity. 2 Quote
UncleGoofy32 Posted Monday at 12:33 AM Author Posted Monday at 12:33 AM Thanks for the information Quote
momin.ator Posted Monday at 11:34 PM Posted Monday at 11:34 PM There used to be a blog on PinPics all about AP and PP pins. Honestly, I think $5-10 is more imaginable than as much as 50% but for a $20 pin, it could be higher. Be careful, there was a time recently that "early" release versions of some new pins were being counterfeited with the AP stamp on them. 1 Quote

Are there any signs to tell if they have the counterfeit AP stamp? Quote
