jmyster Posted Saturday at 06:29 PM Posted Saturday at 06:29 PM I think this is a great topic as I have seen many people online talking about having a complete collection, I think you can be complete for a pin series or set, but for characters or movies that feels like chasing an impossible dream, as soon as you are 'done' a new pin comes out somewhere in the world you need to add. There is only one board in my collection I feel is complete, that is the pins I collected in honor of 911, these help to lift my heart up after a terrible day. I don't feel the need to add anything to this board as it accomplished it's goal and is still a treasured part of my collection. 3 6 Quote

buzz2001 Posted Monday at 03:27 PM Posted Monday at 03:27 PM Awesome collection! That's what is great about collecting Disney pins. It means different things to different people. One of my side collections is patriotic Mickey. I'm missing a couple that I want but feel complete with most. It started as pins with Mickey only and changed direction a couple of times thanks to friends giving me other pins. Pin trading is always fluid. 1 6 Quote

swim2sea Posted Tuesday at 02:41 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:41 PM I’m learning so much from reading everyone’s posts and I’m one who loves to learn. So keep posting and teaching. @TheTwins my friend is a BATB collector and she also struggles with her collection. It’s probably a bigger collection than Alice in Wonderland. I like that you have narrowed it down to what you relate to most. If I had done this in the beginning with Alice I wouldn’t have so many pins. I also collect Bobbie Pinback and it’s a small collection but so cute. @buzz2001 Your collections leave me speechless. What fantastic pins you have. Makes me feel like my collections are small. I maybe need to start a patriotic board in honor of my father and brother-in-law. I do have all their medals and honors in a frame that was professionally done. This is the shot in the arm I needed to start back framing my pins. I have my Splash Mountain and Three Caballeros that need to go in frames. But I do have a question for y’all. Do you put plexiglass in your frames or are they open? What do you use for the backing? I really am enjoying this topic. It’s not only fun but it’s informative. 2 Quote
TheTwins Posted Tuesday at 02:52 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 02:52 PM @swim2sea - If you collect Bobby Pinback, I'll share a few other pins that we added to the collection that just seemed to fit so well! We got stiff felt paint-your-own pennants that we are going to use to display the pins. I also have collected some damaged and scrapper pins so that I can pin them on backwards and display the pinbacks themselves! 2 1 Quote
ViciousLady Posted Tuesday at 03:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:04 PM @TheTwinsUsing scrappers backwards to display unique pinbacks is SUCH a neat idea!!! @swim2sea Because we live in soCal I ALWAYS recommend framed pins have some kind of UV protection over them if they are being displayed where the light touches. Older pins will usually yellow and discolor in sunlight and newer pins with screen printed elements/freeD/etc will fade and wash out. 2 Quote

ViciousLady Posted Tuesday at 11:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:29 PM Omg @trouble2279 those are gorgeous! Fantastic job, what a fun way to hold pin backs! Quote
tydipins Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago For me, my two big Disney collections are pins and ear headbands, so I combined them! My ear headbands are displayed in my stairwell, and each headband has a circular corkboard they are attached to. Each corkboard is covered with pins that match the ears. It's a convenient way to display both collections, and it's so much fun to think about what pins fit the same theme as the ears! 2 Quote
