Pin Submissions Temporarily Paused Due to Technical Issues

This is what I'm reading and wondering if that issue only applies to new submissions or new pictures/comments on existing entries. I do not want to create more issues so stopped doing anything. My waiting list is growing and not sure if all needs to wait. Just checking.

Have a great time everybody

@pinsgaruma The Technical Issues has nothing to do with what you or anyone else has submitted. We are just pausing new submissions for a short time.

@Dragon57 are we able to submit comments/corrections or offer new photos for pin listings that are already in the database?

That is what I would like to know too, it would help shortening my waiting list, I'm Flemish, don't always find the right wording

Hello, everyone!

It is only submission of new pins that has been paused. This is due to a technical issue that we are working to resolve quickly. You can still submit photo and change suggestions in the database, and the forum is totally active.

Thanks for your patience!

Hello,

I was thinking to add one series a day, but I see the series I submitted this morning without text, nor pictures, so what to do best? It feels stupid to do the work if nothing will be used. Is there still a problem? I can wait, but don't know how I will know which series to add and which not to add. Specially because a lot are older NBC series, not that regular coming on Pinpics. Can I get guidelines on how to proceed?

Thank you

I owe you apologies, now I see texts and the pictures of the back, don't understand anything anymore, so maybe yes, explain what I should do and what not.

Hi!

We don't actually request fully written descriptions anymore with the new simplified method of submission. We have been working for over a year to standardize the descriptions and pin listings. All we request are photos and information about the pin. The team takes care of listing the pins in the standardized format. We have a small team working to make this site as nice as we can make it. It's just people working as quickly as possible, but just because a pin is submitted does not mean that it will get added to the database immediately. We all have a lot of submissions and pins to add.

As far as photos being used, it's clearly stated that photos must adhere to the photo-taking guidelines. If they do not, then we reserve the right to not use the photos. Sometimes, we have photos of the pins to use instead, since multiple people submit to the database. It's not uncommon for multiple people to submit the same pin, so we often use a combination.

Instructions for submitting a pin are clearly laid out at the top of the Submit-a-Pin board. Please read these, and it is all mentioned here.

Create a thread in this board to suggest a pin for submission to the database. Posts are held for private moderation, and the PinPics team will work to add pins as quickly as possible. Please remember, there are only a few of us and mostly volunteers, so we may not add pins right away. Posts will be deleted from this board after the pins have been assessed/added. If your pictures do not meet the guidelines linked below, images will not be used and your submission will be deleted.

How to Submit:

  • Create a post in the board for each pin submission. Remember, you must be a member for thirty days before posting here.
  • You must include cropped photos of the front and back of the pin you are submitting. Check out our Photo Taking Guidelines to make sure that the photos you submit are usable. If they do not follow these guidelines, we will not be able to accept them. You must take the photos you submit yourself. We do not accept submissions using art.
  • Include as much information about the pin as you can (i.e., where or when it was released, name of set, where it's being sold, original price, edition size, SKU, dimensions, etc.). The more information included by you, the faster the pin will be added to the database. The pin must be officially licensed on the back by Disney or one of their official companies.
  • Include the year on the back of the pin (if applicable). It can be difficult for us to read from photos.
  • If the submission is part of a set that is already partially included in the database, you must supply the PP#s for linking.

We do not add Fantasy pins to the database. We do not add listings for Pre-production (PP) or Artist Proof (AP) pins. If a pin is not in the database and you have an AP or PP, feel free to submit. Pins are added as normal, and users may use the "My Pin Notes" field (included with PLUS and PREMIUM memberships) to specify if their pin is actually an AP or PP.

Glad I found this - I was worried it was user error and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't add a pin! 🤪
