PP103019    WDFM - Mary Blair Exhibit - South American Village Painting

Front Description

This pin was released for the Images from Magic, Color, Flair: The World of Mary Blair Exhibition at the Walt Disney Family Museum.

A molded frame holds an image of one of the many pieces of artwork created by Mary Blair.

Based on a painting she did when she was on the South American Tour shown in the film Walt and El Grupo. Mary Blair did a series of paintings that were later used as inspiration for pieces like the Three Cabelleros and Saludos Amigos.

On the left is a native woman dressed in white with a baby strapped to her back and a very large basket on her head with white fowl. Down the path is another figure with what appears to be a water jug balanced on their head. Further down is yet another figure but that one does not appear to be carrying anything.

Other pin in this South American painting series: #103016
