Front Description
THEODORE P TRADER was the name given to Steiff's event-exclusive teddy bear which was released at Disney's Annual Teddy Bear & Doll Convention (held on 19-21 Oct 2000 at EPCOT). Theodore the Pin-Trading Bear stands a proud 12" tall, has jointed arms and legs, and wears his own pin lanyard (black grosgrain ribbon). Theodore came with three removable pins on his lanyard, two from Steiff and one an event GWP. Steiff included the pin bearing their logo on red and the round pin with Theodore's name on it. The third was an event pin with a dangle, which you received as a gift with your purchase of a bear or doll at the event. (This dangle pin was also sold to Conventionears -- the non-cast workers at the event.) A number of these Theodore bears are now found (in 2025) with the 2000 "I was There" pin, but it's unclear as to why. Theodore's fur is a 60% wool/40% cotton mohair blend, and he has a growler device inside (which makes noise when you tip him forward them backward). On his left ear is the Steiff button with a tag denoting the number of your bear out of the 1500 produced. The majority of these bears has been signed (on the foot) by "Tweed Roosevelt", great-grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt and family historian.
This pin features the STEIFF LOGO on a red background.
