PP109714    D23 Walt Disney Studio Tour - WWII Visitor Pass

Front Description

Pin was given out to D23 members who attended the Walt Disney Studio Tour on 06/20/2015. The back of the card reads:

"Because of the great amount of classified government and military work being done at the Disney Studio during the early to mid 1940's, Walt Disney Productions was designated as an essential defense industry. Everyone who worked at the Studio, including Walt and Roy, were issued orange employee identification badges which were required to be worn at all times. Visitors to the lot were also held to this strict standard and had to check in at the front gate to register before being admitted. They were required to wear a visitor's badge similar to the one reproduced here.

Due to the completion of classified government and military work, as well as the general relaxing of security regulations affecting War plants, the policy was rescinded in August 1945, and all employees were instructed to turn in their identification badges by September 4.

We hope you enjoy this commemorative reproduction of the visitor's badge and your tour of The Walt Disney Studios."
