Front Description
Back in the late 1980s a designer named Wendy Gell briefly designed pieces for Disney. Since this was the time of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, she did a number of pieces featuring the characters from the film. This is a head shot of Roger, sculpted then cast and molded in gold metal, then covered completely with Austrian Crystals (Swarovski, Pave) and Sparkling Beads for his eyes. Roger's head measures stands three inches tall and is marked Wendy Gell 1987 Disney/Amblin. This particular pin was never available to the public. Multiple accounts from Amblin Crew state that at the end of making their films, Steven Spielberg gives the cast & crew a gift. With this film and this particular item, however, the crew was not given this as a gift, but rather offered a half-price discount due to its high retail cost. This was not a well received offer nor a morale boost and, therefore, very few were ever made, possibly less than 50. The crew who did purchase one received it in a colored zipper pouch. This is a stunningly beautiful pin, and makes a terrific couple with the matching Jessica Deluxe Pin ( Pin 15898 - which was sold to the public.)
