Front Description
One of seven pins from the 2015 Mad Tea Party Teacups set of Hidden Mickey pins that was released in Wave B at Disneyland. The teacup-shaped pins feature designs (on a white background) created by the great Mary Blair for the Teacup “cars” used in the Mad Tea Party ride in California. Each cup has a brown band around the top, just under the colored rim. The small Hidden Mickey icon can be found just right of center on each pin, with the exception of #11, where it’s in the bottom-right corner. Pins were originally only available by trading with a cast member. In August 2016, pouches containing two random 2015 Hidden Mickey pins were available to purchase for $12.99.
This pin features Design #11 with its burgundy design that resembles the blossom of an orchid or a sweet pea plant. The base, rim and handle are burgundy.
Mary’s concept art comes to life in the designs pictured on these pins. The five common pins feature Designs #5 turquoise, #13 tangerine, #15 yellow, #11 burgundy, and #9 pink from her art sheet. Design #5 is repeated on the silver Chaser pin. The Completer pin features Design #7 royal blue.
