Front Description
This pin was released in conjunction with the 2002 FIRST Robotics Competition held at Epcot, April 25-28 2002. The pin could only be purchased outside in the Gifts and Souvenirs tent of the competition.
It is a limited edition of 1500. It measures 1 3/4 by 1 1/4 inches. Blue backgroud, with black, red and darker blue lettering. The intertwined triangle, circle and square symbols spin! The back has the Disney Pin Trading 2002 logo and it is stamped "Limited Edition of 1500"
FIRST is an annual robotics competition for school students. The event is held annually, usually in April. Unfortunately, Epcot (as of this time) no longer will be hosting the event. FIRST was started by Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway and iBot. F-I-R-S-T stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology".
