Dai-Ichi Life was created in 1902 and was Japan's first mutual life insurance company. This rectangular Steamboat Willie design is from the company's three-pin boxed set (#115763). Mickey Mouse faces left with his hands on the ship's wheel in a classic scene from the cartoon. On the left and right edges of the pin are black filmstrip borders with gold-color "sprocket" holes, as if the pin were one frame from the film. The film portion of the pin is in grays and blacks; the border of the pin is gold in color.

The pin measures 1 1/8" (29 mm) wide by 5/8" (17 mm) tall.
