Front Description
Canoe Race pins from the Tokyo Disney Resort are exceedingly rare having been only
known to date as being issued in 1999 and 2000. This particular pin comes on a
unique backing card measuring 21/8" in height by 2 5/8" in width that pictures a
river with a cloudy sky above it. Similar to the prior 2 known Tokyo Disney releases, this
pin features a canoe with the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto) wearing racoon hats. Though, in contrast to those 2 pins, there is also an area above the canoe which
features a cloudy sky that is similar to the background on the card and the number
"25" with Tokyo Disney Resort written below it as 2008 is the 25th anniversary of
the Tokyo Disney Resort. Also, Pluto is not featured on the previous two pins, rather Tigger. The backstamp on the pin is a simple (C) Disney. There is
no information on the back of the card.
Canoe races are a Cast Member event held using Tom Sawyer Explorer Canoes on the
Rivers of America. Each participant in these annual canoe races receives one of
these pins to commemorate being part of the competition.
