Front Description
Asia was one of the pins in the "Something New In Every Corner of Our World" Press Kit, given to members of the media to promote new attractions. The undistributed sets were later given to cast members who worked at the rides/attractions shown on the pins. Theirs came on a 2-1/2 x 3" card that read, "ASIA March 1999, With my thanks as we begin a new adventure with the premiere of a new continent." The backer card was signed Bob Lamb.
This pin commemorates the opening of the Asia section of Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM. In the center is a yin yang symbol with a tiger behind it. Below is the word "asia," then DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM, then the "Walt Disney World" logo at the bottom.
At the top is the pin set's stylized Mickey Mouse logo in tans and browns, and a red banner that reads "1999."
Pin measures 1-1/16 x 1-1/8 inches.
