Front Description
This is called a model sheet of Pinocchio's final design. Created to ensure stylistic uniformity among the animation team. It is initialed and approved by the character design supervisor JOE GRANT ( whose Disney credits run from 1937 to 2000) and dated almost precisely one year before the film's February 23, 1940 release.
Created exclusively for The Walt Disney Gallery.
Four enamel pins set in a black frame 15 X 17
double matted with ecru and black matts.
Pins are 2" x 2" in size. With four wonderful facial expressions of Pinocchio. In pencil on this one is the issue of 1931/5000 and on the back the COA and Seals and price tag.
Pinocchio has on his hat, olive pea green color with a red feather, and blue band. Big bright blue eyes, black hair and a darker tan nose.
Hard to describe these facial expressions..Happy...Questioning, or Guilty..Eyes closed and face crinkled up... and maybe Sorry or Sad?
Thank you Dominic for adding the picture :)
