***This is the Artist Proof of PP83606.*** DCA - Cast Exclusive - Silly Symphony Swings - Mickey Mouse. This is a Cast Member Exclusive pin celebrating the opening the Silly Symphony Swing attraction in Disney's California Adventure park. This attraction was inspired by the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon short, "The Band Concert." Released in 1935, it featured a frazzled Mickey dressed in an over-sized band leader coat, trying to conduct an outdoor orchestra, but it all goes haywire when they strike up William Tell's "The Storm." Mother Nature ties the tune in knots with her winds, landing the ever-so-dedicated players in a tree. The attraction swings simulate your being swept up in the tornado with the band, as the music plays on. This attraction's thrilling experience will sweep you off your feet! The pin shows Mickey Mouse in that over-sized red coat with green trim and yellow shoulder caps, white gloves and a red hat with a blue feather, yellow brim, and green hat band. He has a gold baton in his right hand. Mickey is standing on an olive drab platform, next to green grass with a dark red music stand in front of him. Next to the platform at the bottom of the pin is the Disney California Adventure logo in yellow letters outlined in gold on a white background. All of this is a 3D element mounted on a shiny gold background that silhouettes the DCA Silly Symphony Swings attraction in motion. The whole pin, including most of Mickey's face is trimmed in gold. The CM's at the DLR/DCA Team Stores say that this series of pins should not be considered a POM, since the pins are "not" being issued on a monthly basis. Rather, this is a series of pins to be issued throughout the year to commemorate the opening of each new attraction during the renovation of DCA. There are tentative dates for these releases dependent upon the actual physical opening of the attraction. So far pins have been released on an every other month basis, (Jan, March, May) but that can change if an attraction's opening is delayed. The first pin in the series was #82840.
