Front Description
This limited edition pin is part of the collection for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which celebrates various artforms and mediums from around the world. This pin features everyone’s favorite purple dragon, Figment, from the Journey Into Imagination ride, cleverly inserted into the famous work of art, “Washington Crossing the Delaware” by Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze (1851). Figment poses in the painting as a member of George Washington’s Continental Army huddled in the small boat as the general and his men push through the frozen Delaware river, the American flag furled against the wind and the sun rising brightly in the background. Figment is in the bottom center of the picture, peaking out over the side of the boat and looking ahead excitedly, wearing a soldier’s coat. The landscape portrait itself is coated in a thick layer of soft clear acrylic and inset into a sculpted gold frame embellished with elegant fleur designs on the corners and sides, an artist’s brush and paint pallet emblem on the top, and an emblem of Figment’s face and wings at the bottom. Dangling from the bottom of the portrait is the logo for the Festival. This pin is a re-creation of one of the portraits found when playing Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt. Other pins in the series include: For search purposes: January 2018, masterpiece, president, fine, classic, classical
