Front Description
This annual passholder exclusive, limited edition pin is part of the collection for the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which celebrates various art forms and mediums from around the world. This pin features everyone’s favorite purple dragon, Figment, from the Journey Into Imagination ride, cleverly inserted into the famous work of art, “Blue Boy” by Thomas Gainsborough (1779). Figment poses in the painting as the titular boy in blue, staring straight at the viewer, with a contented expression, his left hand under a draped cloak and his right holding a black hat with white plume. He’s wearing a blue tunic (which is too tight for him), and a high collared white undershirt. Behind him is a dark brown painted background. The portrait itself is coated in a thick layer of soft clear acrylic and inset into a sculpted silver frame embellished with elegant fleur designs on the corners and sides, an artist’s brush and paint pallet emblem on the top, and an emblem of Figment’s face and wings at the bottom. Dangling from the bottom of the portrait is the logo for the Festival. This pin is a re-creation of one of the portraits found when playing Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt. Other pins in the series include: For search purposes: January 2018, masterpiece, fine, classic, classical
