Front Description

This pin features Mickey Mouse and the Mascot for the 10th Pan American Games. It shows them standing in front of a rainbow. In the Blue part of the rainbow it says "Opening Ceremony", in the Green it says "Indianapolis 1987, and along the bottom in the White it says "Tenth Pan American Games" The back of the pin has the Disney Copyright stamped and reads "Authorized by Pax/I and by Permission of the U.S.O.C 1985"

 

This is a 1 1/2" cloisonne pin.

The name of the mascot (a green parrot) is Amigo. According to Wikipedia, he was designed by Jerry Reynolds of Perennial Pictures in Indianapolis to represent friendliness and festivity.
