Front Description
One of twelve monthly CEREAL BOXES limited-edition pins released at both DL and WDW in 2020. These pins were available in the parks during January, February, and July-December. Due to Covid-19 shutdowns, the monthly release for April-June was moved to shopDisney.com. There was no release in March, when things had pretty much come to a standstill everywhere, so three pins were released in April and May in a catch-up move.
Each hinged pin looks like a cereal box themed after a different Disney character. When you open the pin, you see an epoxied printed image on the right side meant to look like cold cereal. At the bottom of this picture is a chain with a coordinated dangle "toy" on the end. When the pin is closed (round magnet on right side), you can let the dangle hang down or hide it inside the box. When open, the left side of the pin (back of the front) has a printed game like cereal boxes used to have. The backer card says SURPRISE TOY INSIDE EACH BOX! and Start your day the Disney way!. It also says GUARANTEED FRESH and GREAT TASTE!. In small letters at the bottom, it reads "Not actual cereal. Not an actual toy."
The dark blue front contains scattered bubbles, shells and starfish. On top a red banner with "Loaded with Whozits and Whatzits Galore!"" in baby blue lettering. Beneath a smaller light blue banner with "Surprise inside box!", same lettering. In the left corner below, 3 boxes with Calories, Sat Fat and Sugar data. Next "net wt 20 oz 30g". Just above: "No Gizmos or Gadgets, 20 Thingamabobs/Box, 16 Essential Vitamins Out of the Water". The second quarter of the box is filled by Ariel, The Little Mermaid, from head to hips, her wonderful red hair drifting in the blue water. She smiles at her best friend Flounder in the upper left corner. In the center in light blue lettering is "Thing a Mabobs", with a fork replacing the "i". Opening the pin reveals on the back of the cover a high-relief design of waves on which bubbles, shells, starfish and forks. At the bottom: "How many Thingamabobs can you find?" The other side shows a picture of a bag of cereals (shells and starfish). From the middle near the bottom a mini white dinglehopper on a chain comes as dangle element.
