Front Description
This is an older pin, dating back at least to the 1980’s. R. N. Koch made a verity of different Disney licensed costume jewelry. Most often, this jewelry included necklaces, rings, lapel pins, and earrings (both post and dangle). It is not uncommon to find that one mold or design was used to create a matching set with the four most common jewelry styles.
this pin measures approximately 1.5 inches tall and 1 inch across
This is an enamel-filled pin on a gold-toned metal. The pin is a die-cut Mickey turned 3/4s to his left. Mickey is designed to look older with a white face and the pie shaped eyes. He is wearing his recognizable gloves on his close-fisted, 3 finger and 1 thumb hands. His iconic shorts are bright red with the two yellow oval buttons. He is also wearing his favorite yellow shoes.
The back of this pin has a grid-like texture with a single post. The official “(C) Disney” is the only info embossed in the back. This pin has a butterfly clutch pin back.
This pin was purchased on a 2x2 inch plastic backer-card. A red line runs along 3 of the 4 edges. Three large blue line-stars are across the center of the card. The top left corner reads “Disney - Character” while the top right corner reads “Jewelry.” The bottom left corner reads (C) Disney - by R. N. Koch Inc.” while the bottom right corner is where the store selling the pin or matching jewelry would place an additional sticker with the store name and price point (in the case of the pin photographed, this sticker reads “Key 6 $3.97”).
