Twenty-four characters from the World of Disney were selected to be represented through symbols and colors on 24 different cloisonné pins. The individual pins could be “hung” as “ornaments” either on the pop up pin card Christmas Tree or with the aide of the attached black ribbon onto a Christmas Tree.
These pins were sold in a large case with 24 numbered drawers.
Chip and Dale are the characters for this pin. This ornament uses a light brown base color to reference the friends’ fur. Since this pair does consist of chipmunks, they both have white stripes that run down the center of a black stripe that in turn, run down each character’s back. This white on black stripe set is recreated vertically in the center of the pin tapering at the top and bottom. The best way to tell Chip and Dale apart is by the color of their noses as Chip has a chocolate chip colored nose. This detail is represented on the ornament with a red dot for Dale’s nose at the top of the white stripe and a chocolate chip colored dot for Chip’s nose at the bottom of the white stripe.
