Front Description
This enamel pin, about an 1" high and 3/4" wide, depicts Marsupilami.
Marsupilami, a yellow monkey with black spots and best known for his extremely long tail, hangs from a red box with his name in yellow letters. His tail wraps around the border of the pin and then behind him! The background is green.
This pin was a promotional pin given out twice in the mid 1990's to promote new Disney shows at cable trade shows.

Disney acquired Marsupilami in the late 1980s or earlier 1990s from a Dutch (I think) cartoonist. He appeared in two cartoon series - "Raw Toonage" and "Marsupilami" before disappearing into obscurity in America. Due to Disney’s failure to promote him in America, Marsupilami’s creator successfully sued Disney for breach of contract. He is still popular in Europe and reruns of "Raw Toonage" and "Marsupilami" can be seen on Toon Disney.
