Disney held a Destination D23 event at Walt Disney World on 9/8-10/2023, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.
The event was tied to the company’s 100th anniversary year and was put on for members of its D23 fan club, and promised a “journey through every era of Disney, as we venture back through the last century of storytelling and look forward to a limitless future for the company.”
Various vendors sold merchandise and pins at the event including Mickey’s of Glendale that produced a pin catalog in advance of the event…pins sold by RSVP. 100 total pins make up this ‘set’. Each guest had the opportunity to purchase these pins through a Random Selection Process, similar to the annual pin events. Pins were sold in packs of four pins for $100 per pack, individual pin selections were not an option. A total of 25 sets of 4-pack pins were available. Each DWI Exclusive pin is LE300, 2.43”W x 2.75”H and are pin on pin, hard enamel & glitter fill. Base pin 3D cast w/laser print. Each pin came on a separate Disney 100 white and silver backer card.
Each pin is art deco in style with ridged silver ‘wings’ as the right and left foundation. Each character is pin-on-pin in a rectangular top, stepped down to a chevron base shield. “Disney 100” is at the top (inside) of the shield and has a background with Disney’s specific 100-year gradient sandblast iridescent coloring.
The Evil Queen is regal in her purple and black outfit with high starched white collar. Her gold crown sits proudly on her head. Pin measures approximately 2-1/2 x 2-3/4 inches.
