Front Description

This frame commemorates the first run of the Disneyland Railroad. The frame features a photo, pin, railroad spike, and small placard. The spike was originally used to build the Disneyland Railroad in 1955. Walt Disney's love for trains was evident in all areas of his life, from his boyhood job as a news butcher on the Santa Fe Railroad, to his own personal miniature backyard railroad, the Carolwood Pacific, to the railroad he had circle his theme park, the Disneyland Railroad.

This framed set was produced in a limited edition of only 50 pieces in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Disneyland Railroad and Disneyland. A COA is on the back, signed by Imagineer Michael Broggie, Founding Chairman of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society. The original spike is framed alongside a commemorative pin that itself was limited to 1,955 pieces, as well as a photo that was printed from an original negative by Roger E. Broggie. The spike measures 5" tall within the 12" x 13.25" and 2" thick frame.
