Front Description
This is a prototype for a pin that was ultimately released as a dangle (#55665) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Disney Gallery. This pin has a slightly different colour scheme from the finally released pin with a light blue background framed by gold accents in an oval frame (that were preserved for the dangle version). In gold text in the centre it says "The Disney Gallery" with "20" in dark blue and "YEARS" in gold. The banner with the year range (1987-2007) is below this with a dark blue background and gold text. The released version has a ribbon shaped banner that goes behind the 20 bearing the dates.
NOTE: This was obtained from the collection of an executive for Disney that had worked for the company for roughly 35 years. The Disney Gallery opened July 11, 1987 and is an exhibition area including artwork from the Imagineering team created for the Disneyland park. It was located in New Orleans Square above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction from 1987-2007 and from 2009 onward it was located on Main Street, U.S.A.
