This seven-pin Lion King Characters set of 2017 Hidden Mickey pins was released in Wave A at Walt Disney World. Each pin features the head of a different character from the Disney animated film, Lion King, on a silver (unenameled) background topped by four oval “toes” which have been colored to match each animal’s fur. These cut-out pins are shaped like a lion’s paw, with the smiling characters seen inside in a sort of framed look. The small Hidden Mickey icon can be found on the left side of each pin. Pins were originally only available by trading with a cast member. In August 2018, pouches containing two random 2017 Hidden Mickey pins were available to purchase for $12.99.
The five common pins include Simba, Rafiki, Timon, Pumbaa and Scar. Pumbaa is repeated on the silver Chaser pin. The Completer pin features Ed the hyena.
Note: Disney did not release any Hidden Mickey pins in 2016. The five sets of Hidden Mickey pins that Disney released in 2017 have the 2016 Pin Trading logo on the pin backs.
