Front Description
This brooch was worn on the costumes of Disney princess face characters at Disneyland resort, specifically created for the 50th anniversary of the park celebrated in 2005. There appear to be 4 main brooches that were released in a total edition size of 252 (only 62 per style). This pin was the Snow White version, with the other 3 styles for Aurora, Cinderella and Belle having jeweled dangle components (which was lacking only on the Snow White one). There are crystals inset within the brooches with the colour varying based on the character - this Snow White version has a blue colour around the curlique style border with blue gems inset around this. There are red gems in each flag on the castle as well as in the digits of the "50" and the turret roofs are blue.
A complete collection of the Disneyland 50th Anniversary Brooches is on display at the "The Crown Jewels of the Walt Disney Archives" exhibit at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana California; this includes the four ornate brooches (Aurora, Cinderella, Belle and Snow White) a less intricate 50th Castle Brooch (Limited edition of 500) and three "50" number jeweled brooches (blue, red and white).
***Warning***
We have seen identical pins without the embossed Disneyland logo on the reverse.
