PP1727    Busy Bee -- Beechcraft Production Award

Front Description

Pin designed by Disney during World War II, when the studio did a lot of work to support the war effort. This Busy Bee pin (which is sterling silver) was given to Beechcraft employees who met production targets.

This pin was awarded during World War II with a certificate of "Award of Merit" which stated:

"Presented to _____________ for having demonstrated, by performance, the qualities of high efficiency, interest in the job at hand and in training for further advancement, cheerful cooperation with others, and the constant determination to "Kill'em with production".

The certificate was signed by Walter H. Beech, the President and Chairman of the Board of Beech Aircraft Corporation. In the middle of the certificate was a large image of the Busy Bee logo marked (c) Walt Disney.

The pin and certificate also came with two patches of the Beechcraft Busy Bee.

This pin is a wonderful piece of World War II history and incredibly rare.
