Front Description
This pin is white enamel with red and black lettering containing the WDW, EPCOT and Steiff Company logos. It reads "Walt Disney World celebrates 100 Years Steiff Teddy Bears [Steiff - The Original Since 1902] presented by EPCOT." The brass colored back has the "Official 2002 Pin Trading" logo; Disney; and made in China stamps.
During the three days (November 22-24, 2002), WDW in conjunction with the Steiff Company held a 100 Years Steiff Teddy Bears celebration at EPCOT. The convention was unique because it celebrated both Walt Disney's 100 years and Steiff Teddy Bears 100 year anniversary.
The pin was included with purchase of the event bears and given to auction winners. The bear is named "Richard" and the retail price was $225 for a limited edition of 1500 bears. There were approximately 20 items auctioned which ranged in price from $100 to $23,000.
