This Tomorrowland pin appeared recently on Cast Member lanyards at Disneyland. There are 3 different stories of the origin of this pin. First, this pin was included in a framed set that didn't sell well and was broken up. Each pin was supposedly individually numbered(approx edition size 750). Second, this pin was to be part of a press release but at the last minute was pulled because of a concept change and the inscription "Imagination and Beyond" at the bottom of the pin no longer was accurate. (approx edition size 500)3. This may be an error pin, below the scroll that reads "Imagination and Beyond" there was supposed to be a thin blue line running along the bottom of the scroll. The blue line is spotty at best.

This pin came from a framed set sold at Disneyland in 1998 and limited to 825 pieces, 75 of which are Artist's proofs. The sets were a series commemorating blocks of years since 1955 using Tomorrowland pins from the 1998 Attractions series, but individually numbered, framed professionally with an appropriate background, and displayed around a unique title pin, and an oversized logo pin for each set. The three unique oversized pins are #12402, #12839, and #12840.
