Front Description
The Band Concert (1935) is one of six pins in the Mickey Through the Years 1928-1998 Framed Set (#10624) issued for the 70th birthday of Mickey Mouse.
Mickey, facing left, conducts the band with his right hand holding baton and his left hand extended as if to tell instruments, "Stop." He is dressed in a red and green band uniform with gold trim. On his hat is a blue feather. The background is circular and is blue with red musical notes and the date 1935.
From the COA: "The Band Concert (1935) featured the first time Mickey was ever depicted on the screen in color. It was highlighted by a wild barnyard version of 'Turkey in the Straw.'" (Editor's note: The Certificate of Authenticity is incorrect here. The barnyard version of this song was used in Steamboat Willie, though the same song was used by Donald Duck playing various flutes, heavily annoying conductor Mickey.)
The pin measures 1 1/4" (3.2 cm) wide by 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) tall. On the reverse, pin is individually numbered, stating, "LIMITED EDITION, xxxx/1928, © DISNEY.
Othe pins in the set are: 1928 (#2738), 1940 (#2741), 1955 (#2742), 1998 (#2743), Marquee (#2744).
