Front Description
Donald Duck prepares to take off into the wild blue yonder in this handsomely matted and framed presentation of six production elements that tell the story behind the production of an as-yet-unreleased Disney Auctions pin (LE 100).
The highlights of the pin production process, represented here from left to right, are:
1. the engraved image of the pin artwork stamped onto a piece of brass;
2. a clean-cut version of the base pin, the result of various molds being made to refine the pin's perimeter;
3. a version on which each color is applied by hand, then baked to set the color (this step is repeated after the application of each color);
4. a version on which all the colors have been added, which is then baked in a kiln to set all the colors permanently;
5. a polished, buffed version of the pin on which the various colors are smoothed out and their borders more clearly defined;
6. and the final version of the pin, which is plated with a gold finish.
Donald Duck is outfitted in an aviator's jacket with a scarf and flying goggles. Donald is holding a model of a bi-wing plane.
The framed set was auctioned in an edition of 4. SIZE: approx. 16" x 19.75" x 0.75"
