"Disney's Little Mermaid, Ariel, is highlighted on this colorful and festive black-metal pin prototype, which preceded a limited edition of 100 gold-finished collector's pins in a Christmas Train pin set starring the Disney Princesses. (While the production edition was presented as a set only — comprised of oversize train-car pins that actually hook together — this Ariel prototype is offered here individually.) Developed exclusively by Disney Auctions, only four of these black-metal prototypes were produced.

Description:
Ariel, as a mermaid, wearing purple shells, is sitting on a pink cushion on a blue clamshell. The clamshell is sitting on wrapped Christmas presents and a closed clamshell. All of that is atop a flatbed railroad car decorated with holly. On the front of the car is a large hinged hook, to connect with the other pins in this set.
