PP3015    WDW - Cuba Flag - EPCOT Millennium Village - Cast - Dangle - Hot Air Balloon

Front Description

Each two-part pin is the multi-colored MILLENNIUM VILLAGE logo with a dangle bearing a different country's flag and name. At the bottom of the logo is written the event's motto, "Gifts to the World". These pins are often referred to as hot-air balloons. The Millennium Village 2000 dangle pin (PP271) was developed due to the popularity of these pins, as many Cast Members were continually asked if they would trade them.

This pin features the flag of the country of CUBA.

August 2024 note: One of 68 Cast Member pins available (by purchase) to those who worked at the Millennium Village in EPCOT as representatives of their own country (as shown on the pin). The Village opened on 1 Oct 1999 and closed on 1 Jan 2001. The "unsold" pins showed up as a surprise in August 2001, when they were "put out" at a WDW pin event. At some point, some of the pins (in their small heat-sealed clear bags with a WDW price tag on them) were sold for $9.00 each. Many of the pins being sold today by online vendors are in the same plastic bags but have no price tags on them.

November 2000 Moderator note: There are, at current count, 57 different nations represented by these pins. They are extremely rare and very seldom seen available for sale or trade. Best information available from an employee is that the USA version had the largest edition size of 150. This particular pin is said to have an edition size of 25. Unfortunately, exact information is not available.

October 2001 Moderator note: These pins are extremely limited but no official numbers have been released. Rumor says that each pin is LE from 25 to 100 and that the largest edition is the American pin. The more obscure countries are supposedly much rare. Up until recently, little was known about the pins, because they were so rare. In August 2001, apparently a batch (the last remaining?) of unsold pins was put out at a WDW pin event. So, a few more have appeared; but still, these pins seem to be among the rarest of all Disney pins. It's estimated that there are 64-67 different country pins.

Pins measures 1.5 x 2.4 inches.
