Front Description
The five STAR WARS WEEKENDS events for 2004 took place at Disney-MGM Studios in WDW, running May 14-June 13. Each long weekend (Friday-Sunday) featured celebrity guests and lots of merchandise exclusive to the events. Artist Randy Noble was signing at three of the events, and art was used to represent scenes from both the prequels and the original Trilogy. Over the course of the five weekends, eleven individual pins and a Droid Boxed Set were released. There was also an LE100 Framed Set featuring 10 of the single pins (excluding the Droid boxed set and the jumbo Jedi Mickey pin).
Released on 14 May 2004, this Limited-Edition pin features the logo for Star Wars Weekends 2004. The artwork was created by the Disney Design Group artist, Randy Noble and features Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed in white (pin-on-pin element). Mickey is holding an ignited lightsaber. Darth Vader, C-3PO and R2-D2 are shown in the background. The top reads "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...". The Star Wars Weekends logo is at the bottom, underneath which it reads "Walt Disney World 2004". The background is a flat photo on pin. This is a pastiche of the classic 1977 movie poster for "Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV)", featuring Mickey as Luke Skywalker and Minnie as Princess Leia Organa.
Pin measures 2 x 2½ inches.
