The monstrous Giant Squid (or kraken) which attacks Captain Nemo’s submarine is shown in this pin as seen in Walt Disney’s motion picture 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas (1954), found in Pin 28882 (Disney Catalog - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea 50th Anniversary Boxed Pin Set). The motion picture, celebrating its golden anniversary, is based on the Jules Verne’s novel of the same title which chronicles the adventures of Captain Nemo and the crew of the Nautilus.
The squid is about 3 ½ inches long from its tail to the tips of his tentacles. At his widest, the squid is ½ inch. He is black in color with brass outline. You can see his large eye and suckers on one of the tentacles.
