PP33062    WDW - Prototype - EPCOT Center 10th Anniversary - Never Produced - Color Variation

Front Description

This pin is very similar to Pin 2046. This very simple pin marked Epcot's 10th anniversary in 1992. It's a large lavender or purple 10. On the right side, a blue box with gold type reading "Epcot Center" is overlaid. This pin has a gold-tone base.

One of these pins was displayed at the Family Pin Gathering Event at Epcot in Walt Disney World in September of 2004, but an identical pin was sold on an auction website years prior to the pin event. That auction's listing is where the picture of the pin in this listing comes from. The fact that there are more than one of these pins in existence suggests that this pin could have been sold to the public at one time, or that more than one prototype was produced of the pin. This pin is most definitely not one of a kind, and is not noted as such in this listing.

Another member adds:

"I won the 16th April 2000 Auction, lot # 6, at that year's Epcot Pin Weekends for one of these pins [for $50]. The Disney Certificate of Authenticity says: "Pre-production sample, never produced". The Auction Catalog described it in exactly the same way.
