Front Description
This is the second of many PIECE OF DISNEY HISTORY (aka PODH) pins released at WDW. Working with various Engineering Services teams, the Disney Pin Team was able to obtain actual pieces of Disney Attractions, some of which have been retired. In turn, the Pin Team partnered with the manufacturer to add pieces of those Disney attractions to the fronts of the pins (in small domed elements).
Released on 15 Feb 2005, this pin features Bellhop Goofy standing next to an open elevator shaft. Inside the shaft, there is a piece of actual elevator cable from the attraction. Standing at 199 feet, the Twilight Zone (TM) Tower of Terror is an incredible attraction. This decaying Hollywood hotel is located on Sunset Boulevard at the Disney-MGM Studios. Since its opening on July 22, 1994, the Hotel has seen quite a few Guests drop in.
20 Feb 2005 Note: "While only 500 of these pins were released on February 15 at Disney Pin Traders at Downtown Disney Marketplace, more have been spotted at other pin locations, including the Contemporary Resort Pin Station and EPCOT. The pins are tagged at $12.95."
