Dave Smith, director of the Walt Disney Company Archives and long-time Disney Historian, has selected the top 20 moments in Disney Theme Park History. This pin celebrates the elaborate attraction - Pirates of the Caribbean.

 

This Limited Edition pin features the barker parrot and sign from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The parrot and "Dave Smith Medallion" are pins-on-pins. Garret Webb from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin. It is #5 out of 20 in the Dave Smith collection.

 

Dave says, "The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, probably the most elaborate ever created by Disney Imagineers, premiered in New Orleans Square at Disneyland® Park on March 18, 1967."

 

This pin features the parrot from Pirates of the Caribbean standing on a sign that reads "New Orleans Square-March 18, 1967". Above the bird it reads "Pirates of the Caribbean". The parrot is wearing a blue hat and there is the outline of a ship in the background.
