Main Street Ice Cream Parlor
When Walt Disney originally planned Disneyland, he wanted to create a turn-on-the-century Main Street with nostalgic qualities that would make it feel like everybody's hometown. It just had to include the little ice cream parlor with the marble-topped tables and wire-backed chairs that he remembered from his own boyhood in the Midwest.
On July 17, 1955, the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor invited Guests to enjoy a meal or a delicious ice cream confection in just that sort of quaint, small town setting. The parlor once featured sundaes that represented every land of Disneyland, including the Mammoth Matterhorn Sundae -- five scoops of ice cream, sliced pineapple, five different sundae toppings, sliced banana, chopped almonds, whipped cream and a cherry on top for only 90 cents!
The original Carnation Ice Cream Parlor location is now the Blue Ribbon Bakery with the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Shop and Carnation Café as its neighbors.
Pin measures 1-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches.
