Some counterfeits were found with the gap between Mickey's ear and his hand filled in with silver-toned metal. Along with the silver piece connecting Mickey's ear with his hand the blue on the counterfeit pin is darker than the original. Also looking at the stamp on the back, it is much bigger than the original as well.
