PP4168    MAPO 1960's logo

Front Description

This rectangular pin has a plain background and a silhouette of Mary Poppins holding her carpetbag and umbrella. It was the logo for MAPO (short for Mary Poppins), which was the manufacturing area of WED Enterprises. This pin comes with a card.

WED stands for "Walter Elias Disney" which was changed to "Imagineering" in 1986.

MAPO is also the name of the tracking system that helps keep attraction cars from running into each other. specifically this warning/tracking system is used on the WDW monorails... and I've always been told that the profits from the movie Mary Poppins funded the creation of the technology.
