When Walt Disney was planning the Disneyland Park the early 1950's, monorail systems in Germany caught his attention. Originally known as the Disneyland-Alweg Monorail System, this Tomorrowland attraction opened at Disneyland; on June 14, 1959 as the first daily operating monorail in the United States.
This pin features a red and white monorail train as a pin-on-pin with Ludwig Von Drake and an image of Walt Disney with a Monorail train. The Matterhorn mountain is seen in the background. This pin was designed by Artist Lin Shih from Disney Design Group.
