Front Description
There are at least two possible origins with this vintage Jaq pin from the 1950s. The person I purchased this from remembers Jaq as one of a series of pins commissioned by Walt Disney to be produced to coincide with the original release of Cinderella in 1950. However, another pin in that series (Cinderella), was an official souvenir of the 1953 Ice Cycles presentation of Walt Disney's Cinderella. Either way, an early Jaq pin from the 1950s.
The mouse, Jaq, is gold in color (not sure if actual gold). His body faces forward but his head is turned to the left; his left hand holds his mint green coat together and his right hand is at his side. He also has a mint green hat. His eye and tooth are painted white. His shoes, nose, eyeball, inner ear and bits of hair are black.
The original owner of this pin said she begged her mom to get this (and a Cinderella pin) after seeing the original release of the movie.
It is a cast (not Cast Member, but cast as in the process by which it was created) pin with a clasp back. According to a Tomart's staff member, there is also another pin in the series.
The pin measures 7/8" (2.2 cm) wide and just over 1 1/8" (3.0 cm) tall.
