Front Description
Pinocchio and Cleo the fish are featured on this vintage painted plastic sweater clasp, produced by Brier Manufacturing Company in 1940 for the release of the movie Pinocchio (Tomart's AA0112).
Pinocchio, on left is dressed in a blue jacket and yellow hat with blue trim and red feathers; his shoes are red as well. He carries a green book. His pinback is a simple straight clasp. Cleo is orange with red lips and yellow fins. She has a stick pin back which would be used to hold the sweater in place.
The back of the pins read "© WDP." Pinocchio measures 5/8" (1.7 cm) wide and 1" (2.4 cm) tall. Cleo - excluding the stick pin - measures 1 1/16" (2.7 cm) wide by 7/8" (2.2 cm) tall. The chain that connects them is a very fragile brass or copper and is about 1 3/4" (4.4 cm) long.
