Front Description
Engineer Mickey (also known as Construction Mickey) stands to the left of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey is dressed in blue coveralls, red shirt, yellow shoes and brown work hat. He holds a t-square and set of blueprints in his right hand, and his left hand extends to the right behind the castle (which is shorter than he is). The castle is in tans with dark blue spires, a large blue 50 and a gold on blue banner at the bottom with the Disneyland RESORT logo.
This pin came on a card that read on the front, "Maintenance and Engineering Division," then this image, then "Happiest Homecoming on Earth" at the bottom. Inside the card was the pin and a note: "In Honor of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary and in appreciation of your hard work and dedication, the attached pin was exclusively designed for all Maintenance & Engineering Cast Members. Thank you!" It was signed by the vice-president for Maintenance and Engineering."
There is some question as to how many of these pins exist. According to one Cast Member Engineer who received the pin, "I have it and so far less than 30 have been given out at Disneyland; this is according to my source who gave me mine." They also said there is a similar pin of this type honoring the Custodial workers.
The pin measures 1 7/8" (49 mm) wide by 1 1/2" (39 mm) tall. The back simply has "© DISNEY, China."
