Silver Prototype of Pin 6618.
Depicting the Silly Symphonies character Toby Tortoise, this layered, large-scale silver-finished pin prototype preceded a limited-edition collector's pin created exclusively for the 2001 Disneyana Convention held at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
Only two protoypes were produced for this pin, only one of which is being offered here. Because it represents an early stage in the production process, this sample may differ somewhat rom the final edition of the pin.
Toby is wearing a red bowler hat and carrying a red cloth bag on a stick over his shoulder. His leg is pin-on-pin and moves up and down. A thick green border around the pin has a tortoise shell design and says "TOBY'S TREK HOME" in light green letters on the left side; there are thin red lines inside and outside the thick green border. The inner background behind Toby is marbelized yellow-orange.
MATERIALS: hard enamel.
